Breaching the Fourth Wall is proud to partner with an exciting new organization that brings theatre and social justice together to raise awareness, raise funds, and most of all raise spirits in Washington, D.C.
Founded in October 2017, That’s Our Cue is a non-profit corporation dedicated to bringing artists and audiences together to support those in need.
Through bimonthly broadway karaoke events, we provide opportunities for the Washington, D.C., theatre community to channel their talents and passions to provide financial aid to local, national, and international charities.
The theater community has such a huge capacity for empathy and we knew that given the chance to channel that passion to support a good cause, it would rise to the occasion!
We started planning showtune-focused karaoke nights as a group of friends and theater enthusiasts in May 2017. After a few great nights, we knew we had to keep this thing going.
In September we were moved by the humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. We decided to do some good with the fun we were having, and our first karaoke night fundraiser was born!
But why limit ourselves to one cause? There are so many people that could use a little extra assistance now and then, and all communities and cultures have contributed so much to the talent and inspiration behind the arts.
That’s why we’ve decided to be an evolving, responsive community organization. When we see those in need, we act . . . and we sing. As a group we decide where we can best direct our efforts, and when we hear the call, we know that That’s Our Cue!
